| Who needs a Slovenian visa? |

• The citizens of the Republic of Moldova are required to posses a valid visa for entering into the Republic of Slovenia.
• Slovenia is not a member of the Schengen Area yet, therefore A Schengen visa does not authorise the bearer to enter Slovenia.
Transit across Slovenia
Since 1 July 2006 foreigners can transit through Slovenia without a Slovene transit visa if they possess: • a valid Schengen visa (B,C,D or C+D) • a valid visa issued by a new Member State of the EU (Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia) • a valid residence permit issued by a Schengen State or a “new” Member State of the EU • a valid residence permit issued by Switzerland or Liechtenstein.
For transit across the Republic of Slovenia the shortest route from one neighbouring state into another is taken into account. (For example: from Hungary across Slovenia to Italy) or from Austria across Slovenia to Croatia)
The transit across the Republic of Slovenia can on justified grounds (F.e. car accident, illness, tiredness) last maximum 5 days.
ATTENTION!
A visa is only a preliminary permission for entry, which does not authorize its bearer automatically to enter the country. The traveler may be requested to provide proof of the existence of the conditions of his/her entry and stay in Slovenia and, if s/he is not able to fulfill this, s/he may be returned from the border.
| Who can submit a visa application? |

The Common Application Centre receives visa applications only from citizens of Moldova. Visa application can submitted, as a general rule in person. Exceptions to the general rule:
- A person older than 18 years of age can submit the visa application of his/her family member’s.
- In the case of group travel of businessmen or sportsmen (having a supporting letter by the National Sport Federation), the application may be submitted by a representative duly authorized.
Attention! The above mentioned exceptions to hand in the application by a representative don’t however implicate that the consul, if s/he deems it necessary, may not call upon the applicants for an interview. The authorization of a representative is only valid for submitting the application and for collecting the visa issued; the application form has to be signed by each traveler personally.

A, B, C type visa in normal procedure: approximately 15 working days. Please note that visa applications are sent to the Slovene embassy in Kiev once a week (every Thursday).

- We recommend to submit the visa application in due time, especially in periods preceding the summer and other holidays.
- The consulate may receive visa applications at the earliest 3 months before the beginning of the visit.
- The processing time starts when all the necessary documents are at the disposal of the Common Application Centre.
