Bled, 31 August 2008 – On the margins of the Bled Strategic Forum, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel today met with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Mirek Topolanek.

The talks focused on relations between Slovenia and the Czech Republic as well as on certain topical issues, such as the latest developments in Georgia and on ways as to how the EU should implement the idea on developing the eastern dimension referred to in the June European Council conclusions. Prime Minister Topolanek was particularly interested in the Slovenian EU Council Presidency; as it is known, the Czech Republic is set to take over the EU Presidency in January 2009.
