Who may enter Slovenia as a visitor?
Officials in charge of visa procedures at diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Slovenia must be certain that your guest fulfils all conditions defined by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia and the EU.
From the very beginning of the visa procedure it must be clear that: - the foreigner is not going to stay in Slovenia for more than 90 days or longer than he or she is permitted; - the purpose of stay (regardless of the planned duration of stay in Slovenia) enables the issuing of a visa; - during the stay in Slovenia the purpose for which a visa was issued will not change; - during the stay in Slovenia the alien will not become a social burden or that he or she will in no way require public funds during the stay; - previously issued visas were used in accordance with their purpose and in the defined period of time, and that they were not misused in any case; - the foreigner does not represent a threat to the country’s law and order or security.
How can I help?
The official in charge of a specific visa procedure must have all pertinent information before a decision is taken. As a guarantor or host you must submit the information on time.
It is not necessary that you personally come to the mission or post carrying out the visa procedure.
What documents should I include?
Supporting documents must clearly indicate the purpose of the foreigner´s entry into the country, the duration of stay and the address where the alien will reside during his or her stay in Slovenia.
As a rule, the person hosting an alien must fill in and sign a letter of guarantee providing important information for the implementation of the visa procedure.
Normally, letters of guarantee are intended for private and business visits, the former being issued by natural persons and the latter by companies, sole traders and other economic operators. Letters of guarantee must be certified, which may be done at the nearest administrative unit.
