Minister Erjavec to attend Western Balkans Summit in Trieste

On Wednesday, 12 July, Minister Erjavec will participate in the Western Balkans Summit in Trieste. The foreign ministers' segment will focus on the fight against terrorism and radicalisation, migration, the refugee issue, and the political dimension of regional cooperation and regional initiatives, and take stock of the results of the dialogue with civil society and youth forum.

The Trieste Summit is the fourth in the series of dedicated summits within the Berlin Process, following those in Berlin in 2014, Vienna in 2015, and Paris in 2016.

On the sidelines of the Western Balkans Summit, Minister Erjavec will meet UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson. Following an overview of political and economic cooperation, the two counterparts will exchange views on topical regional and global issues. Slovenia and Great Britain hold regular political dialogue on a wide variety of subjects, with particular focus on the developments in the Western Balkans. Foreign Secretary Johnson paid a visit to Ljubljana in January, upon the celebration of 25 years of diplomatic relations between Slovenia and the United Kingdom.
