Visa liberalisation for Ukrainian citizens

Ljubljana, 11 June 2017 – Today, Slovenia – along with other countries of the Schengen Area – abolished the visa requirement for Ukrainian citizens, holders of valid biometric passports, for business or tourist stays not exceeding 90 days. The visa-free regime will strengthen cooperation between Slovenia and Ukraine in the economy, tourism and culture, and promote people-to-people contacts.

The visa liberalisation is yet another acknowledgement that Ukraine has successfully implemented numerous reforms contributing to the rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU, and to its alignment with the acquis and commitment to its fundamental values.
