State Secretary Mirošič meets Indian Minister of State for External Affairs

New Delhi, 6 March 2018 – On the second day of his visit to India, State Secretary Mirošič met the Minister of State for External Affairs, Mobashar Jawed Akbar. The two officials confirmed the friendly relations between the two countries and exchanged views on the political and security situation in the EU, the Western Balkans, the Mediterranean and South East Asia. They also touched on some topical global challenges facing the international community.

State Secretary Mirošič then met the Secretary for Public Enterprises, Seema Bahuguna. They confirmed an interest in strengthening economic cooperation, and Ms Bahuguna presented the experience acquired in the management of publicly-owned companies.
At the business conference of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Secretary addressed representatives of both Slovenian and Indian companies. The conference is aimed at enhancing and expanding economic cooperation between the two countries and to present investment opportunities in Slovenia. In terms of trade, India is Slovenia's third-ranking partner in Asia.
State Secretary Mirošič concluded his visit to India with a meeting with the Secretary General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Riva Ganguly Das, to discuss possibilities for bilateral cooperation on culture.
