Minister Karl Erjavec met Foreign Minister of Liechtenstein, Aurelia Frick

New York, 22 September 2017 – On the last day of his visit to New York and participation in the General Debate of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly, Minister Erjavec continued bilateral talks.

Minister Erjavec met with his counterpart from Liechtenstein, Aurelia Frick, and the two went on to confirm the excellent relations between Slovenia and Liechtenstein, pointing out a number of areas in which cooperation could be further developed. Minister Frick, who is also the head of the Informal Ministerial Network for the ICC, thanked Minister Erjavec for Slovenia's engagement in the Network, support for the ICC and the International Investigation Mechanism for Syria, which was also initiated by Liechtenstein.

The ministers assessed bilateral relations as excellent, with no outstanding issues and many shared views on challenges facing the international community. As Liechtenstein is a member of the European Economic Area, opportunities for enhancing cooperation, also on trade, are numerous, particularly after the issue of the avoidance of double taxation has been resolved. Minister Frick invited Minister Erjavec to visit Liechtenstein, and Minister Erjavec invited her to participate in the next Bled Strategic Forum.
