State Secretary Cerar receives copy of credentials of the Turkish Ambassador

Ljubljana, 2 August 2012 – The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Slovenia, Serra Kaleli, today presented a copy of her letter of credence to State Secretary Božo Cerar.


Upon receiving the copy of the credentials, State Secretary Cerar stressed the friendly relations between the two countries, which are based on mutual respect and are not burdened by any outstanding issues. He also noted that the two countries have developed successful cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels, particularly in economy with strong trade activity. A further important aspect of our relations is Slovenia’s support for Turkey’s ambition to join the European Union. Slovenia will endeavour to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.


Ambassador Kaleli agreed with the positive assessment of the relations between the two countries, stating that Turkey will also strive to reinforce relations in all areas of cooperation.
