  • The European Consensus on Development adopted in December 2005 outlines the common political framework for the European Commission and Member States in the field of development;

  • The European Consensus on Humanitarian Aid was adopted in November 2007;

  • The Cotonou Agreement was adopted in June 2000 for the period until 2020. The Agreement outlines political, trade and development relations between Europe and ACP countries. It is envisaged to be revised every five years, with account taken of changed circumstances. The Agreement succeeded to the Lomé Convention. The financing of ACP countries is channelled through the European Development Fund (EDF).
