Slovenia takes part in the work of European Union bodies shaping the policies, programmes and instruments of EU development assistance and humanitarian aid. At the operational level, it contributes delegates to and participates in programmes of EU Council working groups for development cooperation (CODEV/DEVGEN), Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) and the Working Party on Humanitarian Aid and Food Aid (COHAFA). It also helps to organise meetings of directors-general for development. Member States hold the dialogue at the ministerial level at informal meetings of development ministers and during Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meetings. Slovenia allocates a substantial sum to the EU budget, which is then channeled to recipient countries through the financial instruments of EU development cooperation.
